Heroes FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you can quickly learn the basics of Heroes. Expect updates
to this page as I become aware of, and then answer, your common
questions.
- Quests
Go on quests to earn gold and experience quickly. Each quest
has certain requirements like mana, equipment, guild size,
etc. New quests become unlocked for higher level players.
- The Kingdom
Buy undeveloped land and then build on it to increase your
income. Once a piece of undeveloped land is built on, it
cannot be built upon again. Selling any property gives you
back half of what you paid. The more territory you control,
the more gold and power you'll have!
- The Bounty List
Check here to find "bounties" that have been placed on other
heroes. Successfully vanquishing a rival hero here will earn
you a bounty, but it won't be easy. Hundreds of other
players will be able to view the same bounty. You can place
a bounty on most people near your level from their Heroes
profile, if you have enough gold and stamina.
- The Vault
For a $10,000 gold minimum deposit, you can open a vault
account to protect your money from being stolen from an
attack by another guild. The vault does charge a slight fee
for protecting your money, however... You can withdraw money
at your leisure, but be careful! The vault requires you to
have at least $2,000 gold in your account at all times! Only
gold from the vault can be used to pay the clerics at the
church, so make sure you keep some there in case you get
hurt. For your convenience, if you don't have enough gold to
post a comment or broadcast a message, gold will be
automatically deducted from your vault to cover the costs.
- How Battles Work
You can attack heroes at or above your level. The battle
results are calculated based on how many people are in your
guild and what they are equipped with. You should try to
have at least one item for each of your guild members to
fight with, or else some will have to fight bare handed.
Each guild member may cast 1 spell, command 1 army, and be
equipped with 1 item (e.g. a long sword, or plate mail). The
number of heroes from your guild that can participate in a
fight is limited to 5 times your current level.
- Your Armies
Go here to purchase spells, armies and items. New items are
unlocked when you reach higher levels.
- Your Guild
Here you can view who is currently in your guild. This is
also where you can accept people's invitations to join their
guild and send out your own invites. Click the "REFRESH"
button on the top toolbar if your guild count does not go up
immediately. Note: Your friends must accept your invites
before they become part of your guild!
In a battle, each member of your guild will use whatever
equipment, spells, and armies that you own. Your guild's
strength is limited by your level as well as how many
members you have. At level 1, a guild with lots of members
will only have a small advantage over a level 1 guild with
very few members. However, the size of your guild takes on
more importance as you reach higher levels.
- Your Hero
Here you can increase your stats (maximum health, mana,
attack strength, etc.) using your skill points. Click on
"Stats" at the top to view your current heroes profile in
more detail, including a record of your achievements.
- Your Heroes' Name
When you begin to play, you'll be asked to pick a name to be
known by across the land. Choose wisely, because you can't
change your name once you pick it!
- Your Class
You can choose from among three character classes. Each has
specific advantages. Rogues gain income 10% faster, Paladins
regain health 10% faster, and Mages regain mana 10% faster.
- How do I add a non-friend to my Guild?
This isn't possible! You're supposed to form a Guild with
your friends!
