Rockstars FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
So you wanna be a rockstar? Get your stuff in gear! Here you can
learn the basics of Rockstars.
- Help, my stats are incorrect!
If you feel your stats (money, confidence, band size, etc)
are incorrect, try hitting the in game "Refresh" button at
the top right of the screen.
- Learn
You'll need to practice if you want to dazzle your
audiences. Try out various ways to get experience. For each
you'll need varying energy or people in your band.
- Shows
This is where you prove your stuff and earn some quick cash.
Start small-time like any good musician and work your way up
to bigger venues. Play mostly for money, not experience.
Each show has certain requirements like energy, instruments,
band size, etc.
- Promote
Marketing yourself well will bring a hefty reward. Earn a
steady income by your promotions. First pay money to acquire
the right venues, like flyers or a record single, then begin
your campaign to reel in the big money. Once a venue has
been deployed for a campaign, it is unavailable for further
campaigns. Selling any venue or campaign gives you only half
of what you paid it return, so be careful!
- The Bank
For a $10,000 minimum deposit, you can open a bank account
to protect your money from loss through battles with other
bands. Since your account is for protection, however, the
bank has to charge you a slight percentage of whatever you
deposit. You can withdraw money at your leisure, but be
careful! The bank requires you to have at least $2,000 in
your account at all times! Only money from your account can
be used to pay your therapist, so make sure you keep some
there in case you lose confidence!
- Band Battle
Engage in battle to see how you measure up to other bands.
But for fairness' sake, you can only battle bands at or
above your fame level. Results are calculated based on how
big your band is and what equipment they have. You should
try to have at least one instrument for each of your band
members to play. Each band member can play 1 guitar, use 1
amp, and 1 miscellaneous item. The number of your band
members that can play is limited to 5 times your current
fame level.
- Gear
Go here to purchase instruments and equipment. New items are
unlocked when you reach higher levels.
- Travel
Like any musician, you'll need to go on tour. Come here to
get the stuff that will make your life easier on the road.
You can only own one of each item here, but each will help
you regain energy quicker so that you can play more shows!
- Your Band
Here you can view who is currently in your band. This is
also where you can accept people's invitations to join their
bands and send out your own invites. Click the "REFRESH"
button on the top toolbar if your band count does not go up
immediately. Note: Once you send an invite, your friends
have to go to their own "my band" page to accept your invite
before joining your band!
In a battle, each member of your band will use whatever
instruments and equipment you own. Your band's strength is
limited by your level as well as how many members you have.
At level 1, a band with lots of members will only have a
small advantage over a level 1 band with very few members.
However, the size of your band takes on more importance as
you reach higher levels.
- Your Rockstar
Here you can increase your stats (maximum health, energy,
attack strength, etc.) using skill points. Each time you
level up you gain a limited number of skill points. Click on
"Stats" at the top to view your current band profile.
- Your Band's Name
When you begin to play, you'll be asked to pick your band
name. Choose well, young rocker, because you can't change
your name once you pick it! What you can do though is create
a new character and start over.
- Your Class
You can choose from among three rockstar classes. Each has
specific advantages. Hard rockers gain energy 10% faster,
indie rockers gain confidence 10% faster, and pop rockers
generate income 10% faster. You also can't change your class
unless you start a new game!
- Saved Games
You can create up to three characters! When you switch to a
new character, your old one becomes inactive -- it won't
lose any stats, but it also won't earn income or be
available to battle.
- How do I add a non-friend to my Band?
This is not possible. You are supposed to form a band with
your friends!
- What's the deal with Comments and Broadcasts?
They're just around so you can meet and greet other bands
and band members. Note that the comment and broadcast fees
will automatically be deducted from the bank if you don't
have enough cash on hand.
- Missing Contract Points from a Completed Offer?
On your
Agent page, visit the link that says "Missing contract
points?" under the big green button. I do NOT run the offers
