OutWorld FAQ
Introduction
In the year 2135 AD, humanity is forced to leave the planet that
gave it life and search for a new home beyond the stars. With
its population of colonists locked in stasis, the massive Ark
colony ship glided through space towards its destination...
until an unknown event pulls it out of hyperspace and down to a
crash landing on a strange, unknown planet. The colonists,
suddenly reawakened, forget their primary mission to establish a
new homeworld and splinter into small crews, each vying for
power on the new planet, which, due to its barren nature and the
mysterious signs of alien life, is known simply as OutWorld.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Help, my stats are incorrect!
If you feel your stats (health, energy, stamina, credits,
etc) are incorrect, try hitting the in game "Refresh" button
at the top right of the screen before and after you feel
your stats should change.
- Missions
Perform needed tasks for credits and experience. Each
mission has certain requirements like energy, equipment,
crew size, etc. New missions become unlocked for higher
level players. Some missions are required before you can do
other missions. (The equipment you receive might be needed
later!)
- Colonize
Begin to stake your claim on OutWorld by seizing land and
building on it. It will cost money to claim the land and
once you have the land you can develop it for more money.
Every land and development brings you a certain income. Once
a piece of land is developed on, it will not be available
for further development and will DISAPPEAR from your lands.
Selling any land or development gives you back half of what
you paid.
- Credit Union
For a $10,000 minimum deposit, you can open a protective
account for your credits at the Credit Union. Money in this
account cannot be lost in an attack by another crew. The
Credit Union does charge a slight fee for protecting your
money, however... Also, a minimum deposit of $2,000 must be
held at all times after you open an account! Only credits
from the Credit Union can be used to pay the medics at
sickbay. For your convenience, if you don't have enough
credits to post a comment or broadcast a message, credits
will be automatically deducted from your account to cover
the costs.
- The Ark
Damaged and no longer spaceworthy, your crashed colony ship
the Ark is nevertheless usefulif you can find the necessary
power crystals to jump start its computers temporarily. The
Ark can give you credits, a one-time energy boost of 10
points, or a cybernetic warrior to bolster your crew.
- Bounties
Check here to find bounties that have been placed on other
crews. To earn a bounty successfully, you have to destroy
the crew completely. (Thus, winning a battle against the
person on the bouty list alone will NOT earn you the
bounty.) You can place a bounty on most crews near your
level from their profiles, but only if you have enough
credits and stamina.
- How Battles Work
You can attack crews at or above your level. The battle
results are calculated based on how many people are in your
crew and what they are equipped with. You should try to have
at least one item for each of your crew members to fight
with, or else some will have to fight bare handed. Each crew
member may use 1 weapon, wear 1 armor, and pilot one
vehicle. The number of members of your crew that can
participate in a fight is limited to 5 times your current
level.
- Armory
Go here to purchase weapons, vehicles and other items. New
items are unlocked when you reach higher levels.
- Your Crew
Here you can view who is currently in your crew. This is
also where you can accept people's invitations to join their
crew and send out your own invites.
To add a member to your crew: a person must first be
your MySpace friend. You can choose to send an invite to
your friends from your Crew page. If they do not have the
app they will have to install it. Once they have installed
it, they must create their own name and class before going
to their own crew page and accepting your invitation! Note:
on your Crew page, all people that you have successfully
sent invitations to will show the word REQUESTED above their
picture. If you do not see REQUESTED, it means your
invitation did not go through and you have to reinvite them.
- How do I add a non-friend to my Crew?
Not possible, sorry! Your crew is supposed to be made up of
your friends!
- Upgrades
Here you can increase your stats (maximum health, energy,
attack strength, etc.) using skill points. Collect more
skill points as you level up. Click on "Stats" at the top to
view your current crew profile in more detail, including a
record of your achievements.
- Your Crew's Callsign
When you begin to play, you'll have to choose a callsign for
your colonist crew. Pick carefully, because you can't change
your name once you pick it!
- Your Class
You can choose from among three character classes, each with
its own advantages. Explorers gain energy 10% faster,
Soldiers heal 10% faster, and Colonists earn income 10%
faster.
- Missing Power Crystals From a Completed Offer?
On
The Ark page, visit the link that says "Missing power
crystals?" at the top. I do NOT run the offers
